My approach
I focus on quality and like to work with and for the best.
I gravitate to people whose work ethic is rock solid. Because why would you do something the wrong way when you can make it the right way? (If you don’t know the right way in localization or translation, worry not, I’ll show you)
I just want the process to be the most seamless as possible for both of us and to see you succeed!
My personal highlights
No. 1
No. 2
No. 3
Localizing a AAA life-sim game which I’ve loved since I was a child. And now when I play it, I can use objects which I translated. How cool is that?! I’m pretty sure that the little me wouldn’t believe that she’ll have an impact on her favorite game.
The academic experiences. Learning from CDProjekt’s head of localization. Completing (after shedding a lot of tears) my localization research on the use of MT in games. Working with EU terminology team… I learnt a lot, for sure!
Public speaking about localization. I was on the radio talking about video games localization and held a lecture on a conference. Listen, I’m an introvert, so public speaking is waaay out of my comfort zone but I’m so glad that I found the courage to do it!
How it all started...
So why did I become a translator? Well, that wasn’t my first choice as a child. In fact, I was always a little undecided as to what I wanted to do when I grow up (being a pirate seemed fun, but so did becoming a princess, secret agent, or a vet). One thing I always knew though: I like learning, languages and games. I think my undecidedness might have gotten me into video games – they allow you to become whoever you want (one day you’re a jedi and the next a mermaid).
So when I had to finally decide on something, I was a little puzzled. Everyone around me wanted to be a doctor. And I sure like Dr. House but is this enough to get through 10 years of med school and then a whole life of actually being a doctor? I decided to follow my passion: foreign languages. I started to read up on translation, visited translators’ forums, read books, and I fell head over heels in love with it.
And when I discovered that there is something called video games localization (which, hello, would combine my two biggest passions: video games and languages) I immediately knew that this is it. And a few years later, here I am! (Amazing how something that we dreamed of in the past becomes our reality, right?)
I decided to combine wideo games with my other passions: marketing and writing. So I took classes in the university on marketing, learnt copywriting, and took a 3-months long official Google digital marketing course.
